This past weekend, we went to a service where Will Hart from Iris Ministries was speaking. He is a missionary and loves to release the Holy Spirit in a place with a humble heart. Not only did he have countless, specific prophetic words over people, but so did his team. The leadership from the church allowed him to flow, without looking at the clock. For the first time in a long time, the Holy Spirit was freely able to do what He wanted to do without hindrance or control. There was no “religious spirit” in the room. It was absolutely beautiful and the presence of God was thick in the atmosphere. It was encouraging to watch a humble servant just be a vessel for God to flow through from. If you have a facebook account, you can find the service if you like the “Oceans Unite Christian Centre” and find “Sunday Celebration Service | Guest Speaker Will Hart, Part Two | Oceans Unite”.
During one part in the service, Will was going over the various types of worship. I was sitting there in awe of God and then the Lord spoke to me. Will turned behind him to the guitarist and started to speak to him. He basically asked him to “let loose” and asked that the sound team turn his mic up. When the guitarist started to play, everything else in the room was silenced besides the guitar. As I watched the man play the guitar, I heard the Lord say, “Jonali, you possess a gift, but you are not using it, you are just holding it.” The conviction fell over me and I just started crying. There are famous musicians in my family in India by the name of “R.D & S.D Burman”. “Widely considered to be one of the greatest and most successful Indian music directors, the legendary musician has mesmerized the entire nation with his iconic music in both Hindi and Bengali films over a span of several decades. He is the son of another legendary music director SD Burman.” If you ask anyone in India, they know who they are. They didn’t know Jesus, and in the past I know that God has wanted to redeem the gift in me and my children, but I have been too “quiet” to use it. I feel like the enemy has had a hold over that vocal area of my life and I believe it’s time to began to release what He has. I believe this gifting starts in the home. Maybe I just buy a keyboard and start to just play and sing and see what happens. It’s like handing an artist a bunch of coloring utensils for the first time with an open canvas and allow God to just move naturally. It’s a clean slate, but it’s time to be obedient.
God is the best at those one liners, and in the moment, hearing His voice is absolutely amazing. We need to do our part and be obedient in what He’s asked us to do. We need to get uncomfortable and step out of the boat, because if we do, we’ll be able to walk on the water, and encourage others to do so as well!
What is your gifting to show off an amazing God to the world?
